I have found that one of the most dangerous things a person can do is to dwell on the past. People change, places change, and no situation can be duplicated in quite the manner we thought it could. This organization is all about looking past the tragedy that occurred more than two years ago and focusing on the future of New Orleans and other areas hit by the force of Hurricane Katrina.
In looking forward to the future, there are some bright opportunities on the horizon for Project: Katrina Hope. A pre-order form for t-shirts will be available within the next few weeks. The shirts will be yet another way to raise awareness of our cause, and every penny goes right back into the organization. Who doesn’t love a comfy t-shirt that supports a great mission?

Continuing progress on the documentary is forthcoming. Filming begins in December with interviews of volunteers who have already made the trek to New Orleans. Their stories are touching, and many are planning return trips to the region. I could not be more excited to bring their accounts to life and to get more volunteers involved in the effort.
Project: Katrina Hope seems to take on another dimension every week. The young men and women working in this organization are constantly bringing new ideas, new stories, and new insight into how we can make the documentary an incredible tool to inspire others to help, and ultimately, to rebuild New Orleans and surrounding areas. The future is where we’re headed. There’s no more time to curse the storm.
With hope,
Gretchen
