As NOLA approaches…

To say that Shannon and I are looking forward to our week in New Orleans is a gross understatement. Not only will this be Shannon’s first week off work in seven months and my final spring break, we are privileged enough to spend it making others aware of all of the great people changing New Orleans for the better. Shannon has never been to “The Big Easy” before, and I still get goosebumps thinking about my first tour around in the city in June (with tour guide/Project: Katrina Hope insider Jeff). He showed me the highs and lows of New Orleans, but the positives stuck with me, as I’m sure they will with you, when this documentary comes to completion.

Just a few logistics pieces, for those who are curious:

I leave for NOLA on Saturday (the 15th) and will be driving down there for this trip, because I could not justify spending so much for a flight and rental car at this time. I’ll be taking two days to enjoy the scenery in my last roadtrip in my car before I give it up for public transportation of a big city. Shannon will be flying down from Chicago on Monday (the 17th), and we will be departing from NOLA Saturday morning to return to the “real world.”

I’ll be blogging every day from New Orleans to keep our supporters updated!

With hope,

Gretchen
